Center of Hope Devotion – April 3rd

Dear Friends,

READ 1 SAMUEL 8:1 THROUGH 10:27

As a man, I am often accused of refusing to ask for help. A survey of nearly one thousand men found that the participants would walk an average of nine hundred miles over the course of a lifetime due to refusal to ask for directions. People can be reluctant to admit it when they need help. But when it comes to seeking direction from God, you should never hesitate.

But the servant replied, “Look, in this town there is a man of God; he is highly respected, and everything he says comes true. Let’s go there now. Perhaps he will tell us what way to take” (1 Samuel 9:6).

Unsure of which direction to take, the servant knew he could rely on God for the answer. When you feel lost or are struggling to make choices, let God guide your path. Turn to God directly through prayer and through seeking out the advice of godly people, just as Saul and the servant did. When you seek God, be willing to follow His direction, even if it takes you someplace unexpected.

Challenge for Today: Ask God to give you guidance in some area of your life where you are struggling to make a decision.
