Dear Friends and Family,
READ 1 KINGS 17:1 THROUGH 18:46
Many Christians do not want to work in politics. They believe politics involves trickery, double talk, and sometimes outright lying. They think politicians cater to the rich or only care about themselves. True, people can and do act sinfully in any field of work. But there are many Christians in both national and local government, doing what is right and serving the Lord with all their hearts. They make hard decisions and stand up for truth. This is their calling, and we must pray for and support them.
And Ahab had summoned Obadiah, his palace administrator. (Obadiah was a devout believer in the Lord) (1 Kings 18:3).
King Ahab was more wicked than any king before him. His evil wife, Jezebel, deeply hated God and His people. And yet God placed Obadiah, a devout believer, in daily contact with this evil pair. God put Obadiah right where He wanted him. While Jezebel was killing prophets, Obadiah was hiding them and caring for them. Obadiah did not compromise his faith but used his position to impact his culture for God.
You can do that too.
Challenge for Today: Find a way to impact those you have contact with daily.
