Center of Hope Devotion – May 4, 2020

Dear Friends and Family,

READ 2 KINGS 9:1 THROUGH 10:36

Throughout the ages, God has called on people to not only follow him, but to encourage others to follow Him.

"The prophet Elisha summoned a man from the company of the prophets and said to him, “Tuck your cloak into your belt, take this flask of olive oil with you and go to Ramoth Gilead" (2 Kings 9:1).

The task of the young prophet was not an easy one. He was to anoint Jehu and announce God’s call for him to be king over Israel and then open the door and flee. The prophet faithfully fulfilled his mission.

Believers are called to announce God’s good news to a lost world, even when there is personal risk involved. You are called; you only need decide if you are willing to take the risk and answer His call. The season in which you find yourself in allows for even a greater opportunity as people are being greatly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, everywhere one turns they see the results of people living without hope.

Paul tells the Corinthian church in 2 Corinthians 4:7 "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us". We have the privilege to share with others, what Jesus has done in our life.

Here are a few ways to share your faith while still stuck in isolation:

* Forward the things being sent to you to from the church.

* Invite someone to watch the Center of Hope Sunday Service.

* Send an encouraging and uplifting message to someone who you know is alone or in need.

* Pray for people

Challenge for Today: Take a risk to share the gospel.
