Dear Friends and Family,
READ 1 CHRONICLES 10:1 THROUGH 12:40
Saul was God’s chosen person to be king of the Israelites. He was given a wise advisor in Samuel the prophet. He had every chance to be the king God wanted, but he refused to obey the Lord.
Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord; he did not keep the word of the Lord and even consulted a medium for guidance (1 Chronicles 10:13).
Because Saul wasn’t faithful to the Lord, Saul lost his life and his kingdom. God searched for another man who would be faithful. Even though David was far from perfect, his love for God drove him to repent when he sinned and to do all in his power to please the Lord.
Choosing a path of disobedience to God can cause even the most anointed person to miss out on God’s plan for his or her life. But when you choose to be faithful to God like David, then you place yourself in a position where God can bless you and those around you.
God always returns faithfulness for faithfulness. When you seek to please Him, He will guide your steps.
Thought for Today: God rewards those who are faithful to Him.
