Dear Friends and Family,
READ 1 CHRONICLES 13:1 THROUGH 16:43
The appearance usually gives it away: a square envelope with a seal. The contents are most often an invitation to a wedding or birthday party. Invitations are commonly sent to invite friends or family to celebrate an important life event. It is a way of communicating the importance of personal presence in each others’ lives.
“Let us bring the ark of our God back to us, for we did not inquire of it during the reign of Saul”
(1 Chronicles 13:3).
King David invited the presence of God by bringing the ark of the covenant to his new capital: Jerusalem. The ark represented God’s presence with His people. David, in contrast to King Saul, wanted God’s presence to be central to his reign as king. Bringing the ark to Jerusalem symbolized placing God at the center of the kingdom.
Through the acts of repentance and faith, you invite God’s presence to be the center of your life. He faithfully responds by sending His Spirit as the seal that you belong to Him and that He abides in you.
Challenge for Today: Allow God’s presence to be the center of your life.
