Center of Hope Devotion – May 21, 2020

Dear Friends and Family,

READ 2 CHRONICLES 5:1 THROUGH 6:42

The singers raised their voices in praise to the Lord and sang: “He is good; his love endures forever.” Then the temple of the Lord was filled with the cloud, and the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the temple of God (2 Chronicles 5:13–14).

There are times when God manifests His glory. These are mountaintop experiences that thrill the soul. God promises to inhabit the praises of His people. Sometimes the effect of His presence is subtle; at other times, it is powerfully obvious.

During the worship celebration to dedicate the temple, God’s presence became visible. The musicians played and the singers sang. God’s presence became so thick that the priests could not perform their duties.

Times like those are precious, but Christians cannot live for them. Instead, you must worship God regardless of the outcome or your feelings in the moment. Even when His presence isn’t visible, you can still have faith that God’s presence is near when you worship Him.

Prayer Suggestion: Praise God for His presence.
