Dear friends and Family,
READ 2 CHRONICLES 7:1 THROUGH 9:31
Solomon brought Pharaoh’s daughter up from the City of David to the palace he had built for her, for he said, “My wife must not live in the palace of David king of Israel, because the places the ark of the Lord has entered are holy.” 2 Chronicles 8:11
The marriage between Solomon and the daughter of Pharaoh was a politically savvy decision that revealed the beginnings of Solomon’s insensitivity to God.
King Solomon later married hundreds of foreign wives and these women turned his heart away from true devotion to God. They followed other gods, and Solomon fell into their sins.
Believers must be careful what they allow into their lives and whom they choose to partner with. The Bible says not to marry an unbeliever. Even close friendships can hinder faith in Christ.
Are your close friends believers? How do your close friends impact you? How do you impact them? Consider your relationships carefully, because bad company does corrupt good character (1 Corinthians 15:33), just as it did with Solomon.
Challenge for Today: Evaluate your relationships to ensure your close friends encourage your faith.
