Center of Hope Devotion – June 10

Dear Friends,

ESTHER 1:1 THROUGH 3:15

Every election year, people in the United States go to polls to vote for whom their leaders will be. Each person makes the decision based on the criteria they consider important.

But God has His own criteria for selecting those He wants to lead His people. He seldom selects the most qualified person to lead His people. Moses was a killer with little confidence. David was the youngest son of his family and ignored by his father. And Esther was an orphaned Jewish girl with no hope for a future in Persia.

Mordecai had a cousin named Hadassah, whom he had brought up because she had neither father nor mother (Esther 2:7).

People should never disqualify themselves from service to God because of their background. God uses those considered useless by others. When God calls you to serve, believe that He will equip you to accomplish the task. If you don’t know where to start, ask God to tell you what to do. When God completes the work, be sure to give Him the glory.

Thought for Today: God uses those who are willing.
