Dear Friends,

READ ISAIAH 9:1 THROUGH 13:22

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned (Isaiah 9:2).

Four children stumbled in the dark forest as they followed their mother to the family cabin.

“Ow!” The middle daughter tripped over a tree root. “Mom, it’s so dark. How do you see the pathway to the cabin?”

“Look up. See the opening in the trees overhead? That break in the trees reveals the path. The light is there, but you have to look up to see it.”

Like an opening in a dark forest, Isaiah’s prophecy of the coming Messiah created a light of hope for the people of that time. Jesus’ great light continues to shine in spite of the darkness of the times.

God can be trusted to guide His people through the darkness around them today. When God’s people look up, they will find Jesus’ light illuminating even the darkest path.

Prayer Suggestion: Lord, help me to look for Your light in every situation. Thank You for always showing me the way.
