Dear Friends,
READ: ZECHARIAH 6:1 THROUGH 10:12
For over a week the weather forecasters had been pleading with residents to consider the approaching hurricane a major threat to life and property. People close to the shorelines were told emergency help would not be available once the storm came closer.
While most people heeded the warnings and evacuated from the area, some refused to believe they were in danger and chose to remain in their homes. They ignored the words of coming disaster, and they encountered the wrath of the hurricane that caused deaths and massive destruction.
“But they refused to pay attention; stubbornly they turned their backs and covered their ears” (Zechariah 7:11).
God warned the Israelites many times of the storm of punishment they faced if they did not turn from their idols and worship only Him. But they repeatedly refused to listen and rejected the warnings, resulting in generations of pain and suffering.
God speaks to His children in many ways. Those who choose to listen and follow Him wholeheartedly will be led safely through life.
Thought for Today: God’s gentle voice can still be heard even in the strongest storms of life.
