Dear Friends,
READ: MATTHEW 21:1 THROUGH 22:46
The town depended on the small, rural clinic to provide medical services for its residents. But when the two largest factories had to reduce their staffs, the clinic’s operating funds quickly began dwindling. The local officials desperately gathered all the local bankers to plead for their help, but they all refused. One local businessman, however, personally knew the state’s governor and called him. When the governor heard the situation, he told his friend, “You go back and tell the bankers that I want them to help the town right away.”
“If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away” (Matthew 21:3).
When Jesus sent the apostles to get a donkey, He told them that if anyone questioned them to simply say He needed it. Just speaking His name made difficulties vanish.
Jesus’ name still has all the power and authority as it did then. Illness, fear, anxiety, pain—even death!—must submit to the holy name of Jesus.
Thought for Today: Whatever you face today, claim victory over it in the name of Jesus.
