Dear Friends,
READ: MARK 6:1 THROUGH 7:37
Mark knew God had called him into ministry and wanted to send him to college. The assurance of God’s care came when a gentleman in his church presented him with a check for one thousand dollars—enough to get Mark and his family to the college town and to live on until his grants arrived.
Learning to trust God for provision is something Jesus expected of His followers.
These were his instructions: “Take nothing for the journey except a staff—no bread, no bag, no money in your belts” (Mark 6:8).
Jesus not only sent the disciples but also wanted them to know He would take care of them. They had no food, no extra clothing, and no money. They had to depend on God.
God sends all believers into the world with the message of His love—into businesses, schools, factories, churches, and streets. Like the first disciples, they must trust God to supply their needs as they share His love. God sends some into full-time ministry, but all believers are sent to share God’s love full-time wherever they go, knowing God goes with them.
Thought for Today: Wherever God sends you, He will supply your needs.
