Dear Friends,

READ: LUKE 17:1 THROUGH 18:43

Doug studied the checkers on the board. He was hesitant to make his next move, but finally he slid his black checker one square closer to his opponent’s red one then waited to see what the other player would do. Playing checkers is a good analogy for a faith relationship with God. Sometimes a believer grows impatient waiting for God to respond to his needs, while God is waiting on him to make a move in faith.

Ten lepers called to Jesus from afar, asking Him for mercy. Jesus didn’t heal them the same way he did others.

When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed (Luke 17:14).

The men had to begin walking toward town while they still felt the leprosy in their bodies. It was only after they began walking that they received their healing.

Sometimes Christians think they are waiting on God to move, when in fact it is their turn to move. The lepers had to walk in faith to the priests, even though they could see no evidence of their healing. When God instructs, don’t wait for the proof. Make your move!

Thought for Today: Faith focuses on the invisible, often actually contrary to what you see.
