Center of Hope Devotion – November 18, 2020

Dear Friends,

Thousands honored Billy Graham at his funeral in March of 2018. Presidents, pastors, famous singers, and other dignitaries celebrated his life and proclaimed praise of a life well lived. Born to a dairy farmer in North Carolina, Billy set his heart to seek God and to live for Him. He was called to preach, and millions heard him share the gospel of Jesus. The favor of God went before Billy. Joseph had God’s favor too, despite some hard circumstances.

“[God] gave Joseph wisdom and enabled him to gain the goodwill of Pharaoh king of Egypt. So Pharaoh made him ruler over Egypt and all his palace” (Acts 7:10).

Both Billy Graham and Joseph lived with integrity, and God set them before dignitaries to speak His truth. No matter a person’s station in life, people notice righteousness. This witness draws them to Jesus. While not everyone may stand in the presence of presidents or kings, a believer’s righteous life will open doors to minister to others. One day all Christians will stand before the King of kings and be honored by Him.

Prayer Suggestion: Help me live a life that honors You before humankind.
