Dear Friends,
READ: ACTS 11:1 THROUGH ACTS 13:52
Some people don’t seem to be good candidates for Christianity. Because of fame, money, and lifestyle, they may seem unreachable. However, God loves all people and has chosen to make salvation available to all who will receive Jesus. Once saved, these people make excellent witnesses for Jesus because the changes in their lives are easy to see.
In Jesus’ time, the disciples knew Israel was a special nation. The possibility of Gentiles being accepted by Christ seemed unlikely and unwelcome. Jews despised Gentiles. Yet God made a plan for the despised to become the chosen.
When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, “So then, even to Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life” (Acts 11:18).
Great celebration occurs in heaven when each person accepts Christ—the Jew, the Gentile, the commoner, the famous, and the infamous. Rejoice that the Lord allows the unlikely to be a part of His Kingdom.
Challenge for Today: Do not give up on those who appear unlikely to accept Christ.
