Dear Friends,Sometimes we need to creatively examine the stories in the Bible in a modern setting, so imagine the following experience.
The church’s worship service proceeded as usual that morning. The song leader led the congregation from the piano. Two vocalists and three guitar players blended the music well. It sounded beautiful. Then suddenly, halfway into a chorus, the worship leader stopped singing. The worship team fell silent as well. From the ceiling, a smoky mist began to form. It came down slowly, looking like a foggy cloud.
The priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the temple of God (2 Chronicles 5:14).
Unable to stand, the vocalists knelt down, faces to the floor with their microphones laying beside them. The guitar players put aside their instruments. People moved to the altars; most had difficulty walking. Overwhelmed by a sweet, divine Presence, they dropped to their knees. Conviction filled each heart. Tears flowed everywhere.
God’s presence is real, powerful, and sovereign. With or without a visible cloud, God still inhabits the praises of His people.
Challenge for Today: Put aside any preconceived ideas and worship the Heavenly Father in spirit and in truth.
